J.D. Sipe Biography
J.D.
Sipe is a unique, award winning folk artist, and
one of the most sought after Blues musician in New Mexico.
He drew his first inspiration, and love, of art by trying
to copy the comic book art he saw as a kid, There were no
art classes in the parochial school he attended through
grade and high school, and his first formal introduction
to art was in jr. college, which he attended for about a
year, and due to circumstances, was unable to complete.
He has developed his own unique style, while also becoming
a successful Blues musician, through years of hard work
He lives with his lovely wife and 7 reformed alley cats
in a tough Albuquerque neighborhood nicknamed "The
War Zone." When he's not playing bass with the local
blues bands, he's working in his converted garage where
he creates carved paintings, mixed media pieces and unusual
shadow boxes. His work has shown in exhibitions and galleries
in New Mexico, Arizona and Washington D.C. and has appeared
in Shaman's Drum Magazine, Mind Science Journal, The Collector's
Guide and Santa Fean Magazine. His artwork is prized and
collected by art lovers in the USA and worldwide.

You can negotiate with J.D. personally - we
refuse to take a percentage of an artists commission work.
That is unheard of in the Art Gallery business,
but being an artist myself, I prefer to do what's right.
( all the money for commission work goes to JD, I dont
take a penny!)
